Julian Lewis Jones (Llun cyhoeddusrwydd rhaglen 'Sgota ar S4C)
Mae actor Cymraeg sydd wedi ymddangos mewn ffilmiau Hollywood, wedi beirniadu S4C yn hallt, a’r “nifer dethol” o bobol sydd wedi cael “bodolaeth gyfforddus” yn sgil y sianel.

Mewn post ar ei dudalen Facebook, mae Julian Lewis Jones yn blaen iawn ei dafod am yr “unigolion” sydd wedi tyfu’n gyfoethog yn sgil sefydlu S4C.

Ac mae’r actor, sydd wedi ymddangos yn ddiweddar yn y ddrama Caerdydd ac wedi cyflwyno ei raglen bysgota ei hun ar y sianel, ‘Sgota, yn beirniadu costau ymgyrchoedd ailfrandio sydd wedi “cyfrannu at dranc y sianel”.

Er ei fod yn barod am feirniadaeth oherwydd iddo fentro gwneud y sylwadau mor gyhoeddus, ac yn Saesneg, mae’n mynd yn ei flaen i ddweud bod S4C “ar ei thîn” ac y byddai’r rhai wnaeth ymgyrchu dros ei sefydlu yn “drist iawn” i weld beth sydd wedi dod o’r sianel.

Mae’n beirniadu’r “barusrwydd”, y chwant am bŵer a’r “diffyg llwyr o weledigaeth” sydd wedi arwain at ostyngiad mewn ffigurau gwylio, diffyg gwreiddioldeb a cheisio cadw’r gynulleidfa “traddodiadol” yn hapus. Y prif fai, meddai, yw “barusrwydd tymor byr”.

Mae llygedyn o obaith ym marn Julian Lewis Jones, sef y rhaglenni plant sy’n parhau, yn ei farn o, o “safon eithriadol o uchel”. Ac fel “Cymro balch iawn” mae o’n pryderu bod plant yn stopio gwylio’r sianel unwaith maen nhw’n cyrraedd oedran ble mae nhw’n rhydd i ddewis beth maen nhw eisiau ei wylio.

Mae golwg360 wedi cysylltu ag S4C, ond dyw’r sianel ddim yn awyddus i ymateb i sylwadau Julian Lewis Jones.

Yn ôl llefarydd ar ran y sianel, gan ei bod yn ymddangos fel pe bai neges yr actor wedi ei thynnu i lawr oddi ar wefan Facebook, nad oedden nhw am ymateb iddi.

Ond mae neges Julian Lewis Jones yn dal i fod ar ei dudalen ar y wefan gymdeithasol, ond dim ond ar gael i’w gweld i’r rheiny sy’n Ffrindiau iddo ar Facebook.

Ers cyhoeddi’r neges yn hwyr nos Iau, mae dros 160 o bobol wedi ei ‘hoffi’, a bron i ddeugain o bobol wedi ymateb iddi.

Ok, I’m gonna have my critics for this but I tell it as it is.

In 1982 S4C was launched (the First Welsh Language Channel serving the People of Wales) after Protests and Hunger Strikes from the likes of Legendary Plaid Cymru leader Gwynfor Evans against Thatcher and her cronnies (sic). In the 34 Years that have come and gone since those revolutionary days of Protest and Passion where is our Channel now and what has it become?

From where I see it- A select few have made an extremely comfortable existence off the back of “our channel” . We should be a very “Rich and Affluent” Channel but in reality individuals have “creamed” off the rich resources that our channel were afforded.

Big Houses in Affluent Areas of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, Luxury Executive Cars, overseas Villas and pointless Countless Re-Fits of Head offices, Pointless New Logos and Re-branding Campaigns( from Expensive Ad agencies in London) have contributed to the Channel’s demise which I am extremely sad to say is on its arse. Short Term greed being the biggest culprit.

It saddens me as a Very Proud Welshman that it has come to this. Greed, Power trips and a complete lack of vision have resulted in a Channel with dwindling viewing figures, a lack of originality, a pandering to a “so called Traditional S4C audience ” -Who with all due respect will no longer be with us in a few years. I like a bit of singing, believe me I do!! But I don’t need it rammed down my throat at every God given opportunity!!!!

Their only saving grace is that Programmes for pre-school and primary School Children remains of an exceptionally high standard. But (and it is a big BUT ) once those Children reach an age where they are free to choose what they watch – the Majority Finish their realationship with S4C.

Those “Forefathers” of S4C would be extremely saddened to see what has become of their vision and fight. Like I stated in the beginning-I am gonna get my critics -Good!! But it needs to be said.
